Job Description
The candidate must:

– Be someone who takes individual initiative to solve problems, but who is equally able to work effectively and cooperatively as a member of a diverse team;
– Be able to deliver on a research agenda of their choosing;
– Have a strong understanding of A/V and computer systems (or be willing to learn how the Graduate Centre’s A/V and computer systems work and how to support them).
ROLES AND DUTIES:
The candidate will be required to:
– Take ownership and responsibility for the intellectual project of the Graduate Centre, in collaboration with senior staff in the Faculty of the Humanities (e.g. Assistant Deans, Dean, academic staff involved in the life of the Centre);
– Develop independent and collaborative scholarship of high standard, which can inform innovative research at Wits, and connect with larger debates on decoloniality, transformation, innovation of research from a Global South perspective (the candidate will be required to produce two scientific articles in accredited journals per year);
– Take leadership in the coordination of staff at the Grad Centre, including organisation of events, seminar series, creating opportunities for postgraduate students to interact in creative and innovative ways;
– Assist with outreach, publicity and research related to Grad Centre programmes.
