Position outputs:
1.Co-ordinate activities in fire station(s) and ensure neatness, maintenance of station equipment vehicles and Staff

4.To establish and develop organizational principles and processes for the delivery of emergency and disaster management
services in the area of jurisdiction.
5.Ensure that the principle of fire technology and fire engineering science is applied in existing and proposed developments

6.Manage the Disaster and Emergency Management functions within geographical area of responsibility

12.Maintain hazmat and fire operational readiness and perform functions in terms of Incident Command System as deployed
13.Prepare annual leave rosters for staff together with recommendations on leave and relevant administrative documents
14.Conduct fire prevention inspection on MHIs ( Major Hazardous Installation), all Rail activities, High risk installations, and
other buildings or Sites to Identify possible contraventions of Fire Safety Regulations
15.Apply regulations for the storage, handling and distribution of dangerous goods (hazardous materials) to comply with
legislation
16.Perform any other duties as directed by a person having authority.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12
• Valid First Aid Level 3 or valid Basic Ambulance Assistants Certificate
• Diploma in Fire Technology (NQF 6)
Only Internal Applicants will be recognised with at least one of the following qualification
* Higher Diploma in Fire Technology (SAESI)
or
* Associate diploma (IFE)
or
* Chief Fire Officer Certificate issued by old Transnet Training Centres
•Hazmat Response Technician (IFSAC – Internal Fire Service Accreditation Congress) Accredited
•Be in possession of a valid driver’s license (minimum C1) with PrDP and be in a position to drive such a vehicle.
Work Experience
•Six (6) Years minimum experience in Hazmat Fire and Emergency Services environment with at least Two (2) years proven
experience at level before or Managerial/supervisory level as recognised in Fire Services
