Have detailed knowledge and understanding of financial standards, policy and practice, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Have experience within the mining industry will be advantageous.
Be analytical with attention to detail.
Have administrative skills.
Have knowledge of budgetary planning and forecasting principles and practices.
Be able to make data-driven decisions.
Have knowledge of quality management principles and practices.
Have experience in presenting financial results to the Board, Exco and other Senior Management.
Have the ability to work independently.

Provide coaching and guidance related to financial complexities associated with budgets and forecasts.
Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Links financial service contribution to the Regional and Operation’s long-term strategy by adding real business value, contributing strategic information, providing report-back, acknowledgements, assessments, ratings and information to the Operations.
Contribute towards the Financial strategic framework by scanning the market, developing practical scenarios and identifying and categorizing financial drivers and researching and implementing best practice.
Apply a financial strategic framework to ensure that long-term strategies are executed e.g. guiding principles, vision, mission and values.
Structures the financial business stream to provide the capacity and capability to achieve the strategic requirements by ensuring that the structure is effective, efficient and competent, optimal resource planning, optimise processes to obtain synergies.
Manage the development, design, implementation and maintenance of financial systems for the operation by ensuring SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance monitoring of budget versus actual costs and the introduction of performance-based contracts with preferred suppliers.
Ensure that strategic and operational plans are executed in area of responsibility by conducting regular management reviews and strategic planning in the appropriate forums on an ongoing basis.
Maintain SOX Compliance, ensuring governance and prevention of proliferation of financial programs.
Execute value added system benefits which can be derived from financial system integration.
Manage the organisational unit’s financial reporting function (Consolidation, External and financial reporting, Technical accounting, Operational and tax accounting, Interface to projects and operations, Cash flow forecasting and InfoPM System support).
Assist with the respective business unit’s reporting function (e.g. Management reporting, budgeting and forecasting).
