To provide high-level strategic support to the CEO in planning, executing and ensuring the success of the CEO’s mandate. POSITION DESCRIPTION This role is responsible for running the office of the CEO, covering a wide spectrum of responsibilities to ensure that the CEO can focus on strategic priorities and deliver on their responsibilities effectively and efficiently. The role requires a high level of maturity, forward thinking and self-discipline. The postholder will be expected to operate at a high level of professionalism and be a skilled stakeholder manager. They will engage with staff and external stakeholders at all levels on behalf of the CEO and maintain excellent relationships with members of the Executive and Board of SANRAL. The role will report directly to the CEO but will also work closely with the Executive Team, the Executive Assistant and the Board. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE A bachelor’s degree or equivalent NQF level 7, preferably in engineering. A post-graduate business qualification will be an added advantage. 10 years’ minimum working experience. 1 year minimum experience in a similar role in an executive office management environment. Should be able to demonstrate an understanding of best practices in corporate governance. Broad knowledge of government policies, legislation and regulatory regime applicable to SANRAL. The Head Dealer will be responsible for the liquidity requirements of SANRAL. The ideal candidate would combine considerable knowledge of bond trading and cash management to ensure sufficient liquidity is available for the continuous operation of SANRAL. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor’s degree in economics/accounting or equivalent. At least five years experience in dealing within Treasury. COMPETENCIES Solid understanding and experience in the fixed income bond market. Detailed understanding of borrowing strategy formulation. Market Research and economic analysis. Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee global daily cash position and monitor global cash status. Monitor excess cash and maximize the return on investments in compliance with the company’s investment policies. Initiate implementation new counterparties. Assist the treasurer to manage short- and long-term funding needs. Play a key pro-active role in the benchmarking. Facilitate the response on investor queries. Stay up to date with current on all industry issues and regulations applicable to the duties of the position. Oversee the maintenance and development of systems and procedures to enhance investment management. Prepare quarterly treasury dashboard for review with senior management. Develop process and documentation to focus on ensuring cash operational consistency. |
