A career in our Assurance Auditing Services Methods and Tools practice, within Assurance Support services, will provide the opportunity to support our engagement teams and clients by providing advice and counsel on accounting, financial reporting, and strategic business issues. In joining, you’ll help ensure a complete and relevant exchange of information among our consultants and in turn with engagement teams and clients, provide experts advice on a variety of specific topics, support engagement teams in resolving complex issues, and supporting clients and their subsidiaries in evaluating the potential impact of accounting and reporting standard setting initiatives. You’ll develop strong relationships with our engagement teams and established audit clients and enhance our ability to meet greater investor expectations with the challenges of an increasingly complex business environment.

Our team works closely together to ensure quality and consistency throughout the Assurance practice by developing tools, guidance, and training. You’ll provide engagement team support, inspection support, and pre issuance reviews along with supporting PwC in the standard setting process.

JOB PURPOSE

Being a qualified CA (SA), you will enjoy and work with the technical aspects of your auditing knowledge and contribute to PwC’s quality strategy in the sought after department of methodology, reporting & audit technical (MRAT).

A. JOB PROFILE

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Successful candidates to these roles will directly contribute to PwC’s quality strategy and agenda by providing direct support to engagement teams in the areas of audit technical, audit methodology and real-time assurance (RTA).

The primary responsibilities will include involvement in:

RTA reviews;

Assist engagement teams with methodology and audit technical queries through the Helpdesk;

Promote behavioural change amongst assurance Partners and their engagement teams through face to face interaction and challenging of audit approaches;

Engage in communication with Partners and PwC leadership to drive the PwC purpose;

Be at the forefront of development of tools and templates to drive quality and efficiency;

Develop and present training;

Analyse and monitor data points to find quality initiatives to assist audit quality;

Reporting to Assurance Leadership.

We design and implement key projects with these objectives in mind and enhance and implement Global PwC projects. We are looking for individuals with drive and an interest in Audit Quality who will supplement and elevate our current team to new heights. It is important that candidates be willing and interested to learn and that they have a passion to assist and support Partners and engagement teams across the South Market Area. Providing support to Partners and their engagement teams is critical to underpin quality within all of our assurance services offerings.

Technically research skills and ability to answer technical help desk queries with thoroughly documented technical references and exhibiting good knowledge of PwC methodology and ISA but using plain language and explaining the rationale for your answer.

EXPERIENCE

CA(SA)

Completed 3 year articles with at least 1 year post article managerial experience.

Team player;

Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

Excellent verbal and written English skills;

Excellent interpersonal skills;

Strong leadership skills (determination), some experience in technical matters preferred;

High energy levels and superior debating skills;

Strong business acumen;

Analytical skills and attention to detail;

Good knowledge of PwC methodology;

US Audit guide considerations (beneficial to have not required);

Good understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
