This role manages a team in a technical environment – disability claims payment – with some individual deliveries and is individually accountable for achieving results through others, over periods of 3 months to one year. The candidate must have experience in disability claims management.
Role Description / Key Performance Areas
Responsible for the management of a unit of payment specialists in the CSOA Job Family in support of business objectives
Normal functions pertaining to management (people, production, customer and finance) apply, but in a technical environment.
Team size would vary but would mostly be between 10 and 15 specialist staff.
Also responsible for technical deliveries themselves (high level of technical knowledge) in terms of income protection and lump sum disability benefits; calculations; payments; payroll management
The candidate must be qualified to deal with complex queries and complaints
The candidate must effectively manage the workflow and queues to ensure service level agreements are met
The candidate must effectively lead the team into a more digitised and efficient way of work
The candidate must successfully amalgamate two teams focussing on disability payments into a cohesive unit
Technical skills would relate to a field within the CSOA ambit, i.e. product / process / MIS etc – specifically related to disability
Carries responsibility to deliver on operational projects within field of expertise
