Is able to create and environment where new ideas from employees are encouraged & considered without fear of reprisal Establish a shared vision across employment, stakeholder and partnership levels B – People Development & Management Assist with the general talent acquisition, placement and resource growth strategy Manages, develops, appoints and assists with the role design of Regional Managers Establish and maintain a succession plan for the management and tied agent team by seeking and attracting new management talent on an ongoing basis Review workforce plans and recruitment demand plans with Regional Managers regularly to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met. Set and align the business development targets, goals, performance levels, products, business rules and conditions with the regional managers ensuring it aligns with the Alternative Distribution Channel long term goals. Conduct meaningful performance development discussions with Regional Managers and top talented Tied Agents Review and advise on identified training and development needs for each Provincial Area. Revise training costs against budget and review set out timelines. Performance manages, coaches and mentors Regional Managers Ensure that poor performance is addressed and that continued poor performance is dealt with in line with the company/department standards Act as first level escalation point for all grievances raised by Regional Managers Approve leave requests for Regional Managers and manage the leave planning for the management team effectively C – Sales Target Setting & Management Manages sales and sales support processes to ensure branch profitability & to meet business targets Identifies & Creates coordinated strategic business partnerships with different stakeholders Review the sales performances of each Provincial Area. Develop yearly strategic sales plans, in collaboration with the Regional Managers and relevant stakeholders Review monthly and quarterly Provincial Area performance to ensure that each area meet or exceed agreed productivity, production and quality targets. Create the yearly sales target and through interpreting the emerging trends (competitor, market intelligence etc.) devise strategies for the Business Division and within each Regions to enhance sales and distribution growth. Review quarterly reports on sales trends and adjust strategies to suit. Works closely with service and operations support functions to ensure related sales support procedures and standards are adhered to and effectively running to enable sales. Oversee and monitor sales growth, viability, and retention for each area. D – Risk Management Has overall accountability over compliant advice practices, risk management and the operations of the branch under their span of control Able to communicate risks effectively to appropriate stakeholders who should either be informed or who are able to take action. Takes responsibility for escalation procedures within business unit to mitigate the impact E – Financial & Portfolio Management Drive business profitability within the business unit. Undertake budget and expense management. Determine, oversee and manage the allocated business development, incentive and expense budget for each provincial area against set targets. Oversee new and existing business profitability and growth targets against service levels, and implement strategies to minimize any identified gaps Review and sign-off on out of budget items when approvals is outside Regional Manager mandate Manages overall portfolio profitibality of branch including claims ratios and cancellations F – Stakeholder & Partner Relationships Responsible for the external relationship management with key stakeholders Report to and engage with various stakeholders and partners with regards to strategic direction, on-going projects and business performance to ensure transparent communication.
