QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A valid Matric Certificate.
A completed trade qualification / 3 year diploma
A valid driver’s license.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance.
Previous managerial experience in a school or similar environment.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Strong technical / operational background with the ability to multi-task.
Be well-versed in all maintenance processes such as: plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, welding, building and other crafts.
Experience in the implementation and adherence to Health and Safety regulations.
Strong administrative skills in terms of managing budgets, reporting, and purchasing stock.
Ability to manage a team, with a strong work ethic.
Self-motivated attitude to problem solving.
Willingness to support and uphold the school’s unique Catholic ethos.
A valid Police Clearance Certificate.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Day-to-day management of the school’s maintenance requirements, including but not limited to:
Ensure that all buildings and infrastructure are well cared for, maintained, secured and are in line with regulatory requirements.
Manage the daily operations of the school by allocating duties and responsibilities, and signing off on all completed tasks.
Inspect and audit buildings and infrastructure on a regular basis and compile records of inspections.
Arrange and oversee all 3rd Party repair and installation activities, ensuring OSH Compliance.
Plan, oversee and record servicing of all vehicles and maintenance equipment.
Inventory control of Maintenance Workshops.
Facilitate function and event set up.
