Job Description
As an Exploration Geotechnician, your responsibilities will include:
Ensure that all relevant QA/QC sampling standards are applied consistently
Instruct samplers on location and demarcation of geological samples.
Work environment where workers and contractor can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
Write and implementation of technical procedures
Collar survey and implement quality control measures for borehole surveys
Monitoring and execution of sampling activities to ensure efficient workflow, product quality and conformance to procedures, regulations and transporting standards.
Instruct as necessary and liaise with Engineering, Drilling and Quality personnel to ensure outputs are delivered and deviations are addressed in a timely manner.
Coordinate the drilling information received from the contractor of the previous day’s work, is verified against the samples on a daily basis.
Verify the drilling meters on the monthly invoice as received from the contractor, to be recommended for payment.
Adhere to a safe and healthy work environment where workers and contractor can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
This role is in the Exploration department at a Band 7 level reporting to the Exploration Geologist.
Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Geology
Requirements:
Driver’s license
1 Years Geotechnical experience at operational level
